Is everyone around you getting sick as the weather changes? Wondering what you can do to naturally boost your immune system this season? We’ve got you!

Here are our top 3 tips to prepare you for flu season:

  1. Daily walks (or outside time)

Getting outside will help keep your circadian rhythm on track, vitamin D levels sufficient, less likely to catch airborne illnesses, and your blood flowing! You can do this by taking a 5-15 minute walk, doing your workout outside (walk, hike, dumbbell workout), taking calls outside, or eating lunch outside.

  1. Prioritize Sleep

If you are feeling a bit lethargic, or have that little ping in the back of your throat, your body is likely starting to fight something. One of the best ways to boost your body’s healing and fighting powers is to get enough rest. On these days, we recommend you sleep in (if not going to bed early). We are also big fans of short naps before 2pm, subbing a walk for your usual workout, or taking some rest on the couch or in your bath when you can.

  1. Supplement accordingly

If you’re not getting a wide variety of whole foods in (animal proteins, fruits, veggies), then we want to supplement. AND if you have been under more stress, around sick people, or traveling, we want to supplement to be sure our body is armored. Our fave supplements to consider are:

  • Magnesium glycinate
  • Vitamin D3+K2
  • Quality Omega 3’s with high levels of EPA and DHA
  • Zinc Picolinate
  • Oregano oil OR Alkaline Structured Silver
  • Vitamin C (from real food sources or ingredients)
  • Extras that may or may not help, but wouldn’t hurt: elderberry, echinacea, local honey with warm lemon water, Herb Pharm Rapid Immune Boost

There are lots of other things that will help you stay healthy – eating specific healing foods, including managing stress, keeping your blood sugar stable, minimizing eating out, and keeping your body moving & sweating
