I have a secret that I want to share with you, a secret that will change your life forever if you apply the principles of its truth. It is not to be taken lightly and you may find that this secret is easy to hear yet hard to apply. What is it?
“Action Dispels Overwhelm”
You can read that again and allow it to sink in for a second. Your actions will ALWAYS dispel the overwhelm that you feel by doing nothing!
Want to get the body composition you have always wanted? Clean out your entire cupboard and empty everything out of your fridge that doesn’t support your goal.
Want to start doing something that you love and call it work? Go start your LLC, pay for a business coach and reach out to 3 people who own businesses like the one you are starting.
All too often we stick ourselves in the camp of “I will do it when….” or “I will start on…” This train of thought keeps us stuck in our current reality as we dream about what could be and constantly PLAN for the future that isn’t coming anytime soon.
The problem with our goals and dreams is that we are standing in the way from pushing them out of the nest and seeing if they are going to fly or not! Why is that? Are we afraid of failure? Are we worried what people will think? Do we lack self confidence?
If you have had any of these doubts before when it comes to chasing your dream or achieving your goals you are not alone. Most people struggle with allowing themselves to set goals so large, that the only way they can achieve it is when they become the person that can.
Therein lies the problem….. Most people don’t identify themselves with being the person that CAN create the body of their dreams or who CAN start the business they have always wanted. We think to ourselves “I can’t do that” or “that will never be me”.
Yet here is the secret once more….. ACTION DISPELS OVERWHELM! Want to identify as the person who will achieve those goals and dreams? Start acting like that person! Buy the course. Quit the job. Ask the girl. Book the trip. Say the word. JUST DO IT!
So what do you need to do to become the person you want to be in the life that you want? Take action by following these 3 steps and whatever you do, don’t wait to take these steps, do them right now!
STEP 1 – Pull out a pen and piece of paper and set a timer for 3 minutes. Take the next 3 minutes and write down everything that you want to accomplish in the next year. It doesn’t matter how big or how small it is, just WRITE IT DOWN!
Then when you are done go back and circle 3 of the most compelling things that you wrote down. These should be things that get your motor revving and ready to jump out of your seat!
Then go over those top 3 and pick one! This is going to be your number one priority and the highlight of Step 2!
STEP 2 – Set a timer for 10 minutes and take immediate action on the goal! I mean it, I want you to grab the phone, get on the computer, make the investment and start moving! This should feel uncomfortable, you should have some doubt, this is how we break through the false identity by taking the leap and showing ourselves that we can fly!
STEP 3 – After you have taken immediate action come back and write down 5 different actions you can take to accomplish your goal. It can be small steps or big steps, the most important thing is that you write them down! After you have your 5 action steps go back to each one and label them 2 days, 2 weeks or 2 months and then put it in your calendar. This will give you the plan and blueprint on how you are going to achieve your goal! Finally, take a picture of your 5 action steps and send it to 2 different people that you know will support you in achieving your goal!
That’s it…… literally that is it. We tend to make achieving our goals a mountain when really it is a mole hill and by taking immediate action we will find that even one step forward is miles further than standing still!
