Hello hello!

Emily here, cofounder of Proclivity. I am the one behind all things nutrition. I started helping people with their nutritional needs because of what I went through personally. Over 10 years ago I struggled to find answers on what was causing my pain and symptoms. With only recommendations for surgery, prescriptions, and “rest”, I experienced no relief or sustainable solution. 

How I got here…

I took matters into my own hands, and started to do the research. I studied nutrition, got my FNTP cert, experimented on myself and have learned how to either cure or manage my symptoms through diet and lifestyle. This process took years. It took frustration. And it took commitment. From that I decided I wanted to help those in need and desperation to shorten that time frame. I want to save others that energy and help them feel better sooner, as well as be a support in the process. I know what it feels like to be there, and it’s not fun, it’s debilitating. This is why I became a coach. I look at it as being a friend with knowledge and experience, to find the root causes, to give you direction to heal what needs to be healed, and work on a sustainable approach that works for you. 

Proclivity was born!

I worked with one on one clients for 3 years. I had met Joel through coaching crossfit (my other love), and I went through a program of his on mindset. Each time after we ended our calls, I thought, “Man, all of my clients need to hear this and do this kind of work if they really want to optimize their goals.” After a few conversations with Joel about that, the Proclivity Method was born. (More on the mindset later!)

So you may be asking, how does nutrition coaching work? 

We first find out what is going on. What are your goals? What are the symptoms or pain points? Where are you getting held up? For some, we work primarily on habits, maybe it’s adjusting to better food quality, or fixing digestive habits. Or for others it’s working through a healing process (by diet and/or supplementation), and then building from there. Usually it’s a combination of all of those, but everyone always has different needs. My goal is to meet you where you’re at, so we can create a sustainable and successful solution where you can leave me feeling better, and feeling empowered to keep it going on your own.

Where do I start? 

Here at Proclivity, we have different nutritional offerings. We work through the basics of digestive habits, lifestyle, mindset, and education on quality foods for you in The Proclivity Method. I also do one-on-one nutrition coaching via consultations or weekly check-in’s where we look at food journals and dive into what a typical day looks like for you.
